Second Hole At Leinster Nickel Project Intersects Continuous Interval
Auroch Minerals Limited (ASX:AOU) has successfully intersected nickeliferous massive sulphide mineralisation in the second drill- hole at the Horn prospect at the Leinster Nickel Project.
That follows the company observing a thick massive to semi-massive nickel sulphide intersection in the first hole of the diamond drill programme currently underway at Leinster.
Diamond drill-hole HNDD002 successfully intersected approximately 7.2m of nickel- and copper- bearing massive sulphides from a depth of 143.0m.
Managing Director Aidan Platel, said the sulphide intercept is one continuous massive sulphide interval, highlighting the nature of the sulphide mineralisation at Horn.
HNDD002 intersected the massive nickel sulphide mineralisation 15m further north along strike from a historic intercept of 14.66m @ 2.19% Ni & 0.48% Cu (08BWDD0015), extending the mineralisation where previously it was thought to have pinched out.
Mr Platel said the observed intercept reaffirms the thickness and continuity of the massive nickel sulphide mineralisation at a relatively shallow depth at the Horn, and highlights the potential for targeting further mineralisation extensions along strike to the north of the Horn Prospect.
“The drilling at Horn continues to deliver with another impressive nickeliferous massive sulphide intercept in our second hole. Importantly, the intersection has extended the strike of the known nickel sulphide mineralisation, providing a thick intercept where the mineralisation was previously thought to have pinched out,” he said.
“The thickness and continuity of the massive nickel sulphide mineralisation at such a shallow depth continues to excite, and we look forward to what the remainder of the diamond programme and the pending assays results will bring.
“We are already looking beyond this current programme and planning drilling programmes to explore the large strike potential to the north of the Horn Prospect.”
