Drilling To Test Spider Targets At Yandal West
Great Western Exploration (ASX:GTE) has identified an additional two priority one VMS at the Yandal West Project in Western Australia.
Geophysical interpretation and modelling of the EM survey by Great Western and its consultants, Newexco have defined the two additional VMS targets, named Daddy Long Legs and Redback, as high priority, discrete, conspicuous, shallow and drill ready. Interpretation of the EM survey is now complete
A total of six VMS targets from the recently completed Xcite HDTEM survey have now been identified, being Huntsman, Jewel, Wolf Spider, Golden Orb, Daddy Long Legs and Redback.
Geophysical interpretation and modelling of the EM plates by Newexco has defined the anomalies as strong bedrock conductors with a geophysical signature that is consistent with sulphide ore bodies.
All six high priority EM anomalies sit within a regional volcanic succession that includes basalts, high mg basalts, ultramafics, felsic volcanics and cherts, proximal to HFSE granites. This geological setting is regarded as highly prospective for VMS-style mineralisation.
Funding has been secured for circa 50% of the anticipated direct drilling costs through the Co-funded WA Government–Industry Drilling Programme, part of the Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), and drill planning is now well progressed.
Daddy Long Legs
The EM anomaly at Daddy Long Legs is a strong, well-defined twin peaked anomaly with a corroborating Bx response. Daddy Long Legs has been modelled as a 30m x 100m plate, with a conductance of 265 siemens (S) and models at approximately 5m below surface (upper limits) with a depth extension of 100m, dipping steeply towards the east-north-east.
Daddy Long Legs is directly along strike to the north of Wolf Spider and is coincident with a magnetic anomaly that is parallel to and immediately east of the Historical Harris Find Mine.
Daddy Long Legs is interpreted to sit within favourable stratigraphy, on a structural trend that is yet to be explored by Great Western. These two VMS targets, along with Redback, provide exciting greenfields targets potentially opening up the eastern portion of the Yandal West Project.
Redback
The EM anomaly at Redback is a well-defined single peak anomaly with corroborating Bx response and a 5ms well defined exponential. Redback has been modelled as a 60m x 70m plate with a conductance of 637 S and models at approximately 30m below surface (upper limits) with a depth extension of 72m, dipping steeply to the east-north-east.
Similar to Daddy Long Legs and Wolf Spider, Redback is interpreted to sit within favourable stratigraphy, on a structural trend east of the of the main focus of historical exploration that is yet to be explored by Great Western.
