West African gold explorer Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX: GMR) has identified wide zones of shallow gold in assay results for 10 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes (totalling 836m) from exploration drilling at its Kada Gold Project in Guinea.
Highlight intersections include: 10m @ 5.6g/t gold from 5m, including 2m @ 18.9g/t gold; 11m @ 6.3g/t gold from 43m, including 2m @ 30.6g/t gold 3m @ 8.8g/t gold from 64m; and 13m @ 1.8g/t gold from 21m.
- Regional exploration drilling, predominantly along the 15km Kada Gold Corridor, has identified significant zones of additional oxide mineralisation outside the Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) area (930,000oz gold).
- Assays received for six drill holes at the Bereko prospect, 9km north of the MRE, and four holes at the Bereko South prospect, 7km north of the MRE. Best gold intersections include:
Oxide gold zones at Bereko and Bereko South remain open to the north and south, and at depth. - New results reinforce potential for additional gold mineralisation along Kada Gold Corridor.
- 57-hole (5,426m) RC exploration drilling programme is now complete, with assays pending for 36 holes.
- With the success of the RC drilling in locating oxide gold zones beneath auger gold anomalies, Golden Rim will shortly commence a 2,000m infill auger programme at Kada, initially focussing on Bereko and Bereko South.
“Results received to date from the first RC drilling at the Bereko and Bereko South prospects at Kada strongly suggest both areas will deliver satellite oxide gold resources we can add to our maiden 930,000oz gold Mineral Resource at Kada’s Massan Prospect,” Managing Director, Craig Mackay, said.
“Drill testing of our bedrock auger gold anomalies at Kada has been highly successful and we eagerly await the assays from our first drilling at another three prospects along the Kada Gold Corridor, Sadan, Sadan South and Massan South, as well as at Sinin, which sits in a parallel gold corridor to the east.”
