Lithium Energy Limited (ASX:LEL) has further extended the massive intersections of lithium-rich brines at the fourth (SOZDD004) and fifth (SOZDD005) holes currently being drilled at the company’s flagship Solaroz Lithium Brine Project in Argentina.
Solaroz is located next to Allkem’s flagship Lithium Facility in the Salar de Olaroz basin and right in the heart of South America’s world renowned ‘Lithium Triangle’.
“Drilling continues to deliver outstanding intersections of lithium rich brines at Solaroz, with assays confirming 473.5m of lithium-rich brines (up to 508mg/l Lithium) in SOZDD004 to 647.5m depth, with assays for an additional 140m (to 787.5m depth) in that hole still pending,” Executive Chairman, William Johnson, said.
“Total brine intersections for SOZDD005 have also been extended to total 489m, with lithium grades so far up to 495mg/l Lithium.
“These drilling results continue to demonstrate the potential for Solaroz to support a world class resource of lithium and with three rigs soon to be operating concurrently, we are excited to be rapidly advancing towards defining our maiden JORC resource at Solaroz.
“We consider the recently announced Allkem/Livent merger2 as a clear endorsement of our strategy to rapidly accelerate the development of Solaroz alongside Allkem.”
Drillhole 4
Assay results have now confirmed that Drillhole 4 (SOZDD004, on the Chico I concession) currently hosts a total 473.5m intersection of lithium-rich brines (across the upper and lower aquifers) with concentrations of up to 508mg/l Lithium to date (with hole completion pending).
Drillhole 5
Drillhole 5 (SOZDD005, on the Chico VI concession) has intersected a current total of 489m of conductive brines (across the upper and lower aquifers) with assays returning up to 495mg/l Lithium to date.
