At the 121 Mining Investment Melbourne event, the investment leaders discussion looked at macro impacts on the metals, mining, and investment industry today. Rather than focusing on commodities, our investors argued that we should be looking at the key value drivers for projects and companies. That said, the energy transition theme was still front-and-center to the investment discussion.
Our panellists discussed how they assess risk in investments and what the key risks and challenges they see to the industry today. We also looked at how funds want to see companies spending surplus cash – whether that’s through M&A, returning funds to shareholders, etc.
