Red Pine Exploration Inc. (TSXV: RPX | OTCQB: RDEXF) has reported new drilling results confirming the presence and continuity of gold mineralization in the Sadowski vein network near the Jubilee and the Minto mine shears on the company’s Wawa gold project in Ontario, Canada.
“The latest results from the testing of the Sadowski vein network confirms the potential to add further mineralization in the hanging wall of the Minto Mine and Surluga deposits,” commented Quentin Yarie, president and CEO of Red Pine Exploration.
“Our drilling also continues to extend the vein system to the east and illustrates the additional potential of the extensional vein networks forming significant zones of mineralization around our two deposits.”
Near-surface intersections include 2.64g/t Au over 25.61m in SD-23-437 that includes 34.64g/t Au over 1.75m approximately 40m down-dip of the intersection of 52.12g/t Au over 2.29m in SD-22-350; and 1.36g/t Au over 11.02m in SD-23-436, including 27.1g/t Au over 0.50m.
The presence of near-surface gold mineralization is further confirmed with diamond drilling over a strike length of 150m with the intersection of 4.95g/t Au over 1.00m in SD-23-438.
Surface grab samples acquitted in the 1990s from Van Ollie Exploration containing between 2.06g/t Au and 13.38g/t Au indicate the presence of mineralization associated with quartz veins up to 160m east of the currently drill-tested footprints of the Sadowski vein network. This suggests a potential strike length exceeding 300m for the network. Mineralization is now known to extend between surface and approximately 90m vertical depth in Sadowski.
The Wawa gold project has hosted numerous gold mines with historic production of over 120Koz. The company reports an estimated NI 43-101 resource of 1.3Mt grading 5.47g/t Au for 230Koz in the indicated category and 2.7Mt grading 5.39g/t Au for 471Koz in the inferred category.
