The report states how the company has worked to become stewards of the water, land, and air and reduce the impact the company has on the environment. Ascot has made a significant effort to improve the water collection, treatment quality, and holding capacity at its site.
The report also explains that in 2022, Ascot experienced numerous challenges with severe weather, re-financing requirements, and decommissioning of some of its contractors however, as a team, the company found ways to mitigate these and continue its journey of developing a mine and surface infrastructure by making several advancements. They also discovered new opportunities with the discovery of additional mineralized gold zones. The company looks forward to another exciting year and building on what the team, the communities and our partners accomplished in 2022.

In 2022 Ascot maintained its strong safety record with another year of zero lost time incidents. The company continues to prioritize female representation at all levels of the organization, with 29% of the Board of Directors, 42% of senior management, and 40% total Ascot employees. In 2022 we also started measuring our greenhouse gas footprint via an inaugural emissions audit across scopes 1 and 2 – an important addition as we progress towards production next year.”
