Astra Exploration Inc. (TSXV: ASTR) has commenced trenching operations at Pampa Paciencia in Chile, and that its shares are now listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FSE) under the symbol “S3I”.
“Pampa Paciencia is a large district, with known high gold grades and wide veins that has hardly been explored as evidenced by the discovery of the new western veins,” CEO, Brian Miller, said.
“This trenching programme will follow-up the new 2,000m of vein subcrop that we have identified in the west of the Paciencia District in late 2022. Trenching will initially target an area with 5.33g/t AuEq and then expand to add drill targets to the company’s inventory at Pampa Paciencia.”
The company mobilized equipment and personnel to the Impaciencia Oeste area of the Project during the week of March 19th to confirm and define newly discovered epithermal veins. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) will be used to determine the thickness of caliche sediment in various areas of the project, and heavy equipment will be used to remove the caliche so that vein dimensions can be determined and geochemistry sampled.
In Q4 of 2022, the company’s geologists discovered approximately 2,000 metres of vein subcrop (near-surface veins covered by thin sediment layer) and surface float containing gold and silver with grades up to 5.33g/t gold equivalent (AuEq = 80). This new discovery is located on the western side of the project, approximately 5km west of the Phase I and II drill programmes.

About Pampa Paciencia
Pampa Paciencia is a 3,840ha road-access low sulphidation epithermal (LSE) gold-silver project located within an active mining district less than 15km from two major mines (Sierra Gorda and Spence) and about 5km from the Faride LSE mine.
Astra has completed drilling, mapping and sampling, geophysical surveys, and localized trenching, at the Pampa Paciencia Project, and in doing so has defined a vein boulder (float) field over approximately 75% of the project area. The veins do not outcrop as the majority of the project area is covered by a thin layer of gravels and caliche but the vein float can be used to identify areas of high prospectivity.
