Gold and base metals explorer Auris Minerals Limited (ASX: AUR) has obtained further significant gold mineralisation has been returned from recent Air Core drilling completed at the company’s 100% owned Feather Cap Gold Project, located 95km north of Meekatharra, in the Bryah Basin, Western Australia.
Results for a further six priority drill holes (DEAC0075 – DEAC0078, DEAC0081 – DEAC0082) have been returned from drilling completed at the Durack East Prospect.
These include a significant intercept of 10m @ 1.22g/t Au from 85m from drill hole DEAC0075.
Importantly, the results returned from the completed Air Core drilling to date support the interpretation of the 2.5km extension of the Morck Well gold mineralised trend into the Feather Cap Project. Based on the results from the Air Core programme to date, an RC program has been generated to further evaluate the significant mineralisation. Ba
sed on results to date from the recent drilling, a priority RC drill hole programme has been generated. Planned RC drilling will assist with the definition and understanding the orientation of the interpreted gold mineralised trend and geology within the Feather Cap Project.
A heritage survey request has been submitted for completion which covers the entire interpreted mineralised trend within the Feather Cap Project. On completion of the heritage survey and receipt of remaining results, an infill Air Core drill programme will be planned to delineate and extend the identified gold mineralisation at a 200m line spacing.
Priority analysis was requested for 13 holes that intersected anomalous quartz veining and/or jasperoidal chert (of which all results have now been received), with results from the routine analysis of samples from the remaining 63 holes of the programme expected during November/December 2021.
Preliminary interpretations indicate the significant gold intercept of 10m @ 1.22g/t Au from 85m from drill hole DEAC0075 is associated with minor quartz veining within mafic lithologies of the Narracoota Formation, adjacent to the south of an interpreted contact with sediments of the Ravelstone Formation.
The significant intercept within DEAC0075 is interpreted to be located 560m along strike to the northwest from the recently reported high grade intercept of 8m @ 5.44g/t Au from 87m including 1m @ 26.7g/t Au from 87m (DEAC0089) and 970m to the east of historical RAB drilling by Geopeko which returned 20m @ 3.01g/t Au from 40m including: 4m @ 10.7g/t Au from 40m (JR60).
No further significant results were returned from other five priority assayed drill holes.
Auris Managing Director, Mike Hendriks, commented: “We are very pleased with these further encouraging results from drilling at our 100% owned Feather Cap Project, with results appearing to validate the extension of the existing 2.5km mineralised strike from the Morck Well Project to the east into Feather Cap.
“Given the location of Feather Cap and the significant mineralisation at Durack to the west and Morck Well to the east, we are aiming to define a total mineralised strike of 5.7km. We are looking to fast track follow up drilling with a four hole RC programme planned immediately and an infill Air Core programme to be planned on receipt of heritage clearance and remaining results.”
