Ballymore Resources (ASX: BMR) has commenced a Stage 5 diamond drilling campaign at its flagship Dittmer Gold Project near Proserpine, North Queensland.
Ballymore managing director, Mr David A-Izzeddin, said, “Ballymore Resources is looking forward to building on the ongoing success at our Dittmer Project with further diamond drilling. Due to the underground access available to us, operations have not been hampered by the recent major rain event in North Queensland.”
All 42 holes completed to date at Dittmer Mine have intersected gold mineralization with excellent continuity, and drilling by Ballymore has discovered the high-grade Duffer Lode extension at the historic Dittmer Mine.
Previous bonanza gold intersections include:
- 4.3m @ 29.02g/t Au, incl 0.5m @ 171.83g/t Au
- 3.85m @ 26.03g/t Au, incl 1.15m @ 68.73g/t Au
- 4.3m @ 10.68g/t Au, incl 0.35m @ 129.43g/t Au
The programme comprises 2,000m of diamond drilling from underground drill sites and is expected to take ~2 months to complete. The Stage 5 drilling will assist with preliminary mineral resource estimations and mine studies.
“The current programme will focus on additional infill as well as step-out drilling, with the intention of achieving sufficient drill coverage to deliver a preliminary mineral resource estimate for the project and preliminary mining scoping studies. With gold prices at near all-time highs, there may be an opportunity to restart mining at Dittmer and deliver significant value to our shareholders in the near term”. Added Mr Izzeddin.
