Barton Gold Holdings Limited’s (ASX: BGD) wholly-owned subsidiary Tarcoola 2 Pty Ltd has been awarded Exploration License (EL) 6860 at the Tarcoola Gold Project in South Australia.
EL6860 is a new 435 sq. km area next to EL6210, on which Barton has also mapped out a ~14km corridor of major structures (to the west of ML6455) analogous to the structure hosting the Perseverance Mine.
Tarcoola’s EL6210 also hosts Mining Lease (ML) 6455, site of the Tarcoola gold rush producing ~77koz Au at an average ~37.5 g/t Au between 1900 and 1955, and the open pit Perseverance Mine which during 2018 sent an average ~3.8 g/t Au ore to Barton’s Central Gawler Mill.
Barton has also discovered the new Perseverance West high-grade zone with multiple mineralised horizons next to the Perseverance Mine.
“We are very pleased to acquire this tenement as an important addition to our strategic regional footprint in the Central Gawler Craton,” Managing Director, Alex Scanlon, said.
“Our regional prospectivity analysis indicates the potential for this new tenement area to host scale gold mineralisation analogous to that already identified on neighbouring tenements EL6210 and ML6455.”
