Barton Gold Holdings Limited (ASX: BGD) has completed a cleanout and preservation programme at the Central Gawler Mill to assist scope and cost estimates for recommissioning in South Australia.
The gold room and gravity circuit have been fully disassembled, with floors and sumps stripped and all structural components and equipment thoroughly cleaned before being placed in secure storage for later re-installation. The ball mills have also been fully stripped of lifters and liners, and thoroughly cleaned.
An estimated 10+ tonnes of gold bearing materials have been recovered, which have now been dispatched to secured off-site storage for processing and sale during 2023. On 30 June 2022 Barton sold an initial 379oz gold for $1m to ABC Bullion, with a balance payment still to be received following final processing.
“Removing the gravity circuit, gold room and mill liners secures significant high-value materials for our shareholders, preserves high-value components, and allows us to optimise the gravity circuit superstructure and flowsheet prior to restart,” Managing Director, Alex Scanlon, said.
“Our thanks to WFS Maintenance Resources for a safe and efficient project execution.”
