Besra Gold (ASX:BEZ) has released the promising final results of the 2022 drilling programme at the Bekajang Project in Malaysia which fuel speculation for the presence of underlying high-grade feeder conduit systems.
Highlights:
- Notable assays comprised 6.7m at 6.5g/t gold from 11m to 18m, including 1.0m at 28.6g/t from 15m.
- Deeper holes of the 2022 programme provided the first systematic evaluation of the extent of hydrothermal alteration below the Pedawan Shale Contact (LSC), with hole BKDDH-27 intercepting intense alteration associated with exceptional grade gold mineralization over an interval of 12.6m at 22.9g/t from 58.4m.
- If the mineralization encountered in BKDDH-27, below the LSC, is representative of the gold tenor within a feeder system, then it highlights the very significant upside potential of this deeper Bekajang target.
- The 2023 Bekajang follow-up drilling programme is currently pursuing extensions and correlatives of the exceptional grade mineralization intercepted at BKDDH-27 in order to ascertain feeder geometries and their ultimate potential.
“The consistency and extent of the shallow LSC associated gold mineralization is not only significant of itself but begs the question of the mechanism for their endowment,” CEO, Dr Ray Shaw, said.
“Exceptional gold grade intercepts in BKDDH-27 below the LSC are currently being followed up and may lead to a fundamental revision and upgrade of Bekajang’s overall potential.”
