Canadian Critical Minerals Inc. (TSXV: CCMI | OTCQB: RIINF) has announced assay results from the first two drill holes of a 2,600m programme at the Thierry mine project near Pickle Lake, Ontario in Canada. The programme encompasses seven holes, with five drill hole assays still pending.
Both drill holes intersected continuous sulphide mineralization from surface to more than 240m downhole. The holes were assayed for copper, nickel, palladium, and platinum.
Early highlights of the programme are as follows:
- CCM-23-51: 106m of 0.539% Cu Eq, including 23.2m of 0.875 % Cu Eq, within 248m down the hole from surface, grading 0.438% Cu Eq
- CCM-23-52: 31.2m of 0.677% Cu Eq and 22.8m of 0.670% Cu Eq within 243.9m down the hole from surface, grading at 0.382% Cu Eq
“We are pleased to see positive assay results from our initial drilling programme at the Thierry Mine project with specific focus on the K1-1 deposit,” commented president and CEO Ian Berzins. “We believe there is significant potential to expand upon the current inferred resource at K1-1.”
The 2023 drill program focused on expanding the K1-1 deposit, which is a large tonnage, near surface deposit located approximately 3km east of the past producing Thierry Mine, which was active from 1976 to 1982. The deposit has a current inferred resource of 53.6Mt grading 0.38% Cu, 1.10% Ni, 1.7g/t Ag, 0.03g/t Au, 0.05g/t Pt, and 0.14 g/t Pd.
