Cosmos Exploration (ASX: C1X) has commenced a maiden round of field activities at its Orange East Gold Project in NSW, Australia.
The company has started its initial exploration programme focusing on soil sampling and mapping ahead of the anticipated Quintons Air Core and Reverse Circulation (AC/RC) drill program set to commence within the next seven to 10 days.
The reconnaissance style soil and field mapping exploration activities will run in conjunction with the drilling throughout February 2023.
“I am thrilled to announce the commencement of our expanded exploration activities at the Orange East Gold Project. We are eager to see the results of our efforts and remain confident in the success of this project,” Executive Chairman, Jeremy Robinson, said.
Exploration Activities
The soil geochemical programme is designed to infill the broad spaced, 200m spaced pXRF soil samples completed over the Quintons prospect and explore the highly prospective untested areas proximal to the structural intersection of the Godolphin fault and NE splay structure. This structural setting is analogous to that observed at the +2Moz McPhillamys deposit1 10km to the SE.
The soil and field mapping programmes will be conducted throughout February in conjunction with the upcoming AC/RC drill programme at the Quintons prospect. The reconnaissance style soil geochemical programme and mapping is expected to provide valuable information on the mineralisation and potential surrounding the Quintons Prospect at the Orange East Gold Project.
In addition, the results of this programme will be used to guide the company’s exploration activities and to determine the best approach for future drilling activities.
In August 2022, Cosmos agreed to acquire an 80% interest in adjoining tenements (EL8807 and EL6378)2, located immediately south of its Orange East tenement (EL8442) and 10km along strike from Regis Resources NL’s +2Moz McPhillamys gold deposit
