Flynn Gold Limited (ASX: FG1) has provided an update on its diamond drilling programme at the company’s wholly-owned Golden Ridge Project located in NE Tasmania.
Managing director and CEO, Neil Marston commented, “We are thrilled that drilling at the Trafalgar Prospect at Golden Ridge in north-east Tasmania has delivered another high-grade gold intersection,
“The latest results include 4m at 23.7g/t gold from just 23m downhole. Within this intersection we have recorded the highest gold grade interval seen to date at Golden Ridge with 0.5m at 169.8g/t Au.
Furthermore, Bonanza gold intercept at shallow depth from extensional diamond drilling in Mathinna Group sediments at the Trafalgar Prospect in NE Tasmania including:
o TFDD013:
§ 4.0m @23.7g/t Au from 23.0m, including
o 0.5m @169.8g/t Au from 25.9m
• Further gold intersected within the granodiorite intrusive, including:
o TFDD009:
§ 2.7m @3.06g/t Au from 68.0m including
o 1.2m @5.09g/t Au from 69.0m and within the adjacent metasediments, including:
o TFDD011:
§ 2.3m @1.56g/t Au from 12.0m
§ 5.5m @1.58g/t Au from 255.0m, including
o 0.5m @5.58g/t Au from 260.5m
o TFDD012:
§ 62.0m @0.63g/t Au from 222.0m, including
o 3.4m @4.53g/t Au from 256.0m, and
o 0.75m @10.44g/t Au from 262.65m
• Gold system at the wholly-owned Trafalgar Prospect expanded beyond 400m East-West strike length, from surface to a depth of 420m and remains open in all directions
• Phase 2 drilling completed with eight holes advanced for 1,987.35m
“This drill hole was sited to test beneath a recently discovered historical adit and has produced an exciting intercept as we grow the scale of the deposit beyond a 400m strike length. There is no drilling down dip or along strike east of this very high-grade intersection, presenting an excellent opportunity to follow-up. “We have paused drilling at Trafalgar to allow time for our technical team to assess further assay results as they become available and plan the next drill program. With assay results for 925m of diamond drilling still pending, we look forward to announcing further results in the coming weeks.”
Exploration by the company at Golden Ridge has identified anomalous gold extending over an 8km long contact zone along the southern margin of the Golden Ridge Granodiorite. The Golden Ridge Project exhibits attributes of a large intrusive-related gold system (IRGS) and the company is continuing to identify and test multiple exploration targets, with the aim of making further discoveries.
