Intersects High-Grade Massive Sulphides In Oman
Force Commodities Limited (ASX:4CE) has identified a number of positive intercepts in the assay results from drill holes 20B5DD009 and 20B5DD010 at the Hara Kilab deposit, located in the company’s Block 5 tenement in the Sultanate of Oman
Both historical and current drilling have confirmed shallow-level copper mineralisation associated with massive sulphide lenses and veined Alley basaltic horizon (with disseminated style of mineralisation).
The mineralised NW-trending window measures around 150 m x 25-40 meters, with a richer zone enclosing Cu intercepts up to 2.8% Cu and drilled widths of up to approximately 20 metres, all bottoming to above 50 metres from surface.
The interpreted ore body is coincident with the NW-trending alignment of gossanous outcrops, as well as the de-magnetised Alley basaltic unit; in particular, the low to moderately low magnetic values closely enclose the Cu-rich target. It appears that the current hole 20B5DD009 intercepted the northernmost lens of an unrecognised ore body that correspond to the southwest lobe of the low de-magnetised zone.
CEO, Simon Pooley, said that most interestingly, there seems to be a precious- and base-metal signature of the mineralising fluids (in addition to the Cu), albeit it is minor component. For instance:
- Hole 18B5DD009 has 0.5m of 0.14 ppm Au and 21 ppm Ag
- Hole 18B5DD008 has 0.5m of 0.3 ppm Au; 2.0m of 7.5 ppm Ag and 0.4m of 23.7% Zn
- Hole HK11-07 has 0.4m of 18.7% Zn, and
- Hole18B5DD002 has 0.3m of 21.7% Zn
Copper and gold analyses were conducted at the Bureau Veritas Laboratory in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
“Hole 20B5DD009 was drilled about 21.3m to the southeast of the first hole (20B5DD002), where 8.3m at 1.34% Cu from 18m was returned Hole 20B5DD009 therefore confirms a continuous massive sulphide ore lens from holes 20B5DD002 to 20B5DD009,” Mr Pooley said.
“We are very pleased to see the continuity of the massive sulphide ore lens from the first hole 20B5DD002, towards the southeast; now we anticipate seeing the pending assay results of the holes to the northwest (i.e., hole 20B5DD012).”
