Horizonte Minerals Plc, (AIM: HZM | TSX: HZM) has announced the appointment two new non-executive directors to its board. The appointments add sustainability and corporate development expertise to the board in preparation for the next development stage of the company, as Horizonte looks to successfully deliver two tier one nickel projects through to production.
Gillian Davidson has over 25 years of experience in the extractives and natural resources sectors. She is an independent sustainability advisor and currently serves as a non-executive director on the boards of AIM-quoted Central Asia Metals plc and TSX-listed Lundin Gold and New Gold Inc. She is a founding member and Chair of the Global Battery Alliance, an initiative created to drive a sustainable battery value chain and is Chair of International Women in Mining.
Gillian was, until 2017, Head of Mining & Metals at the World Economic Forum, leading global and regional initiatives for responsible and sustainable development, prior to which, she was Director of Social Responsibility at Teck Resources Limited.
Vincent Benoit is the Managing Partner at La Mancha, a specialist investment firm focused on precious metals mining investments. The firm is chaired by Egyptian billionaire industrialist and telecoms magnate, Naguib Sawiris. In November 2021 La Mancha made a US$86M strategic investment in Horizonte and now holds took a 19.96% stake in the company.
