Ionic Rare Earths Limited (ASX: IXR) has announced the Tranche 3 drill results from the Phase 5 resource infill and extension drilling at its Makuutu Heavy Rare Earths Project, Uganda.
The results reported are for 52 core drillholes drilled as infill and extension holes to Area A, located within retention licence (RL) 00007, of the current Makuutu 2022 mineral resource estimate (MRE).
The programme is intended to increase resource estimation confidence from inferred to indicated status on resource Areas A and B, and to test extensions of those areas to expand the mineral resource area.
Clay hosted rare earth intersections were achieved in all 52 infill core drill holes, including:
- 4.4m at 1,412 ppm TREO from 1.2m in RRMDD789
- 8.1m at 1,261 ppm TREO from 3.7m in RRMDD822
- 3.9m at 1,077 ppm TREO from 2.3m in RRMDD831
- 10.2m at 991 ppm TREO from 1.7m in RRMDD818
- 5.6m at 997 ppm TREO from 4.3m in RRMDD790
- 9.5m at 824 ppm TREO from 1.1m in RRMDD825
- 14.6m at 812 ppm TREO from 3.7m in RRMDD834
The drilling data will now be applied to an update of the MRE which is anticipated to be completed by the end of Q1 2024.
