Drilling Of High-Priority Au Targets Underway
Kingwest Resources (ASX:KWR) has kicked off an aircore drilling programme chasing of Kanowna Belle style litho-structural targets at its Lake Goongarrie project in Western Australia.
CEO, Ed Turner, said drilling has commenced at Target A10, where the company has identified wcoincidental geochemical Au anomalies under Lake Goongarrie, with first assays expected in two weeks.
“I am excited to announce that aircore drilling at Lake Goongarrie has commenced with the focus on a Kanowna Belle style target A10 as well as other litho-structural targets A1, A2 and A3,” Mr Turner said.
“Drilling will comprise approximately 5,000m and take three to four weeks with first assays expected in two weeks.
“At Goongarrie south Target A9, assays from single metre re-splits have confirmed the composite results from July and given more definition of the mineralisation controls.
Further drilling can now be planned to better test the mineralised system that extends over at least 1km.”
Goongarrie Drilling
The 5,000m Lake Goongarrie aircore drilling is designed to test multiple targets under the lake that have not been previously drilled.
The drilling requires a customised track mounted rig provided by Raglan Drilling from Kalgoorlie.
These targets include a Kanowna Belle style target A10 as well as other lithostructural targets A1, A2 and A3.
. Single metre re-split assays have now been received for all RC drilling completed in March which focussed on Target A9 in the south of KWR’s Goongarrie Gold Project (GGP). The single metre assays correlated well with the composite assays previously released but have more clearly delineated the controls on mineralisation.
Further drilling to continue to test this large mineralised system will now be planned now based on these results.
