Magnetic Resources (ASX:MAU) has encountered multiple, both thick and high-grade zones starting from surface at the Lady Julie project in Western Australia in its most recent infill and extension drill programme.
These promising anomalous gold zones are still open to the SE and down-dip where they are thickening as seen in MLJRC406 with an intersection of 36m at 4.0g/t from 116m. This very promising area is being followed up with 47 RC holes for 5,154m averaging 110m per hole depth and 79 AC holes for 4560m mainly within the 2km long Lady Julie North 1 target zone.
The width of the Lady Julie mineralisation is increasing with a new intersection of 64m at 2.4g/t from 88m which include 36m at 4.0g/t from116m in MLJRC406 and 20m at 4.3g/t from 140m in MHNRC404 on the most eastern edge expanding the prospective EW zone to at least 200m.
The width is expected to increase as these intersections in MLJRC406 and MLJRC404 are open to the east and down-dip.
Further drilling will test this expanded zone over a 300m x 600m area and include testing of the western extremity as well where there is an intersection of 8m at 3.4g/t from 44m in MLJRC400. There are at least two separate stacked lodes present in this current drilling area with some thickening up to 64m in MLJRC406.
The best and most consistent shallow intersections from surface to date at Lady Julie North with 25m at 4.4g/t from 0m including 7m at 13.7g/t from 17m in MLJRC348, 39m at 1.6g/t from 7m in MLJRC295 and 52m at 1.5g/t from 15m in MLJRC343.
Infill RC holes are also planned to follow up many very high-grade intersections greater than 10g/t/
Some of these intersections include 2m at 21.4g/t from 43m in MLJRC292 and 4m at 26.2g/t from 148m in MLJRC406 and 1m at 59.5g/t from 22m in MLJRC348.
This infill drilling is designed to define the true extent of these high-grade zones that lie within the promising thicker intersections.
Within the HN5, HN6, HN9 and Lady Julie areas there are many new shallow intersections with a total of 1,508 intersections (ranging from one to 30m) greater than 0.5g/t Au, which includes 655 greater than 1g/t Au, 240 greater than 2g/t Au, 128 greater than 3g/t Au and 79 greater than 4g/t Au.
A recent 2D seismic survey combined with results from recent major drill programmes as well as historical drillings results have led to the interpretation of 15km of gold targets in 10 areas within HN5, HN6, HN9 and Lady Julie.
The best-looking target so far besides the 3km-long HN9 mineralisation, is Lady Julie North (3.9km long)
At Lady Julie North 1 there are many mineralised intersections including the outstanding intersection of 41m at 2.6g/t Au from 31m including 15m at 4.2g/t from 52m in MLJRC162, 25m at 4.4g/t from 0m in MLJRC348 and 64m at 2.4g/t from 88m in MLJRC406.
This zone between the two thrusts is very prospective and there are numerous NS workings, mineralised drillholes and anomalous soil geochemical areas, which are in the process of being drilled.
