Drilling Delivers Further Impressive Results In Newfoundland
Matador Mining Limited (ASX: MZZ) has received further impressive exploration results from the company’s 100% owned Cape Ray Gold Project in Newfoundland, Canada.
Results from the final three holes of the 2020 Isle aux Morts Resource and extension drilling programme at Cape Ray continue to grow this area.
Significant results include:
- 15m @ 2.49 g/t Au from 12m (incl. 1.0m @ 6.8 g/t Au) within a broader intercept of 33m @ 1.36 g/t Au from 11m
- 5.0m @ 2.32 g/t Au from 90,(incl. 1.0m @ 6.49 g/t Au)
- 6.6m @ 2.58 g/t Au from 10.7m (incl. 1.0m @ 5.21 g/t Au), within 15.5m @ 3.28 g/t Au from 118.5m; and
- 7.4m @ 2.99 g/t Au from 8.0 (incl. 1,0 @ 6.8 g/t Au)
Executive Chairman, Ian Murray, said all assays have now been received for the 2020 IAM infill and extension drilling programme.
“This year’s drilling results at Isle Aux Morts have exceeded expectations. Drilling has successfully delivered extensions to the East as well as better defined the geometry of high-grade domains within the existing Isle Aux Morts Mineral Resource area,” Mr Murray said.
“A significant number of the holes drilled at Isle Aux Morts during this program intersected better grades and widths compared to the more broadly-spaced historic drilling, indicating the potential to improve the contained gold within the Isle Aux Morts Mineral Resource, as well as the classification (confidence) of the Resource.”
The Cape Ray Gold Project comprises 120km of continuous strike in the proven, yet under-explored multi-million-ounce Cape Ray Shear gold corridor. Matador is the largest continuous land holder along this highly prospective shear zone.
