Meeka Gold Limited (ASX:MEK) has received new high-grade assay results from the recent RC drilling at the St Anne’s prospect, which forms part of the company’s Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia.
New results returning broad zones of gold mineralisation include: 24m @ 4.81g/t Au from 68m including 4m @ 20.30g/t Au; 36m @ 1.02g/t Au from 24m including 8m @ 2.35g/t Au; 8m @ 2.66g/t Au from 104m including 1m @ 16.45g/t Au; and 4m @ 1.22g/t Au from 52m.
The newly released intercepts are situated along strike of previously released drilling results from St Anne’s, including: 3m @ 13.82g/t Au from 103m including 1m @ 31.20g/t Au and 20m @ 2.4g/t Au from 57m including 8m @ 5.0g/t Au.
St Anne’s is located 3.5km south of the Turnberry deposit, which hosts a 610,000 ounce gold Mineral Resource. St Anne’s does not have a reported Mineral Resource, however these results are extremely positive and support further exploration drilling schedule to commence this month.
The St Anne’s mineralisation consists of quartz veining and pyrite alteration (as seen at Turnberry) and occurs on a geological contact between mafic dolerite and sedimentary shales.
Both rock type’s host mineralisation at Turnberry with the dolerite generally hosting better continuity of mineralisation and higher grades. Mineralisation at St Anne’s is currently identified over 500m of strike and remains open to the north and south.
“These drilling results continue to support our view that the highly prospective Fairway trend extending over 5km from Turnberry in the north to St Anne’s in the south holds significant mineral endowment that is yet to be fully demonstrated,” CEO, Tim Davidson, said.
“The Turnberry Mineral Resource strikes over 1.5km and we now have mineralisation identified at St Anne’s over a strike length of 500m.
“We plan to follow up on today’s results with further drilling along strike to the north and south, commencing in February.”
