Meeka Metals Limited (ASX:MEK) has obtained high-grade assays from diamond drilling at St Anne’s, part of the wholly-owned Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia.
The drilling will support a Mineral Resource for St Anne’s, as well as providing samples for comminution testing and geotechnical information for open pit design.
Assay results confirmed the high-grade intervals returned from RC and Air Core drilling during 2022, even when accounting for up to 4m of core loss, which is assigned zero grade when reported as part of the broader mineralized interval. Assay results and measured core loss from the target mineralized intervals included:
- 7.8m @2.69g/t Au from 50.2m including 2.0m @8.20g/t Au
- 20.7m @3.29g/t Au from 54.3m including 12.8m @5.21g/t Au; and
- 19.3m @1.27g/t Au from 39.7m including 2.5m @7.04g/t Au.
“This drilling, completed to support the St Anne’s Mineral Resource, comminution test work and geotechnical evaluation for open pit design has confirmed the high-grade nature of the mineralization,” Managing Director, Tim Davidson, said.
“These high grades were evident even after accounting for between 0.7m and 4.0m of core loss, which is assigned zero gold grade when calculating the broader mineralized intercept. Additionally, the high gold recoveries, rapid leach kinetics and low cyanide consumption, reported in December 2022 point to St Anne’s making a meaningful contribution to the Pre-feasibility Study due in mid-2023.
“The initial St Anne’s Mineral Resource remains on track for the March 2023 quarter, allowing the impact of this additional Mineral Resource on our other mining centres and mill sizing to be optimized.”
Other Highlights:
- Metallurgical test work received in December 2022 confirms gold recoveries averaging 98% for St Anne’s.
- An initial Mineral Resource for St Anne’s remains on target for March 2023 quarter.
- The January 2023 Turnberry Mineral Resource and pending St Anne’s Mineral Resource will feature in the Pre-feasibility Study due in the June 2023 quarter.
- Drilling of coincident gold-arsenic anomalies along the 25km long Fairway shear zone, along strike from Turnberry and St Anne’s, to commence in the coming weeks.
