Newcore Gold (TSXV: NCAU) has appointed Branden Fraser as vice president, projects, effective from 8 September 2023. Fraser, a registered professional engineer with over 10 years of experience in mining and processing roles, will play an integral role in the development of the company’s Enchi Gold Project in Ghana. The project is Newcore’s flagship development project and currently hosts an indicated mineral resource of 743,500oz of gold and an inferred mineral resource of 972,000oz of gold.
Luke Alexander, President and CEO of Newcore, said that the company was “excited to welcome Branden to our team,” and that his significant experience in mine development, construction, and operations will benefit the company as it seeks to advance the development of its Enchi Gold Project. Alexander also noted that the company was committed to creating value for its shareholders and that the updated PEA was an important part of de-risking the project.
Concurrently, Newcore has engaged an independent engineering firm to prepare an updated PEA study for the project. The PEA will incorporate the company’s updated mineral resource estimate, which was announced earlier this year, along with the significant metallurgical test work that has been completed on the project since the last economic study in 2021.
Newcore has also granted 300,000 stock options to Fraser at a price of C$0.12 per share for a period of five years. The options are subject to regulatory approval and are granted under the company’s long-term incentive plan.
