Okapi Resources Limited (ASX:OKR) continues to demonstrate the potential of the Company’s 100% owned Enmore Gold Project in NSW, Australia with strong assay returns.
Results from an additional five drillholes included significant gold mineralisation, with drillhole OKDD003 intersecting 28m @ 2.03 g/t Au from 191m, including 5m @ 2.93 g/t Au from 195m.
These results add to our earlier excellent results announced in September and demonstrate Enmore’s potential as an emerging high-grade gold project.
This drill programme at the Sunnyside Prospect has indicated that the higher-grade gold mineralisation appears to continue increasing with depth and remains open down plunge as demonstrated on the Cross Section.
“Okapi is pleased to have completed the drilling programme at the Enmore Gold Project,” Managing Director, Andrew Ferrier, said.
“The drill results across the entire programme returned significant high-grade gold intervals and achieved the objective of the program which was to test for depth extensions and determine the true width of the mineralisation intersected in last year’s RC Drilling Program.
We look forward to progressing Enmore to the next phase of exploration.
“The project continues to return high- grade gold from drilling that remains open at depth whilst also having significant regional potential, all whilst being close to existing infrastructure.”
Drill Results
Assay results for samples from drillhole OKDD003 indicated a significant mineralised zone that contained individual 1m interval gold assays up to 6.95 g/t Au.
The assay results have been presented in full in Table 2 to illustrate the low-grade gold mineralised halo that surrounds the higher-grade intersections and is characteristic of this deposit. Drillholes OKDD005-007 were drilled further to the west and all intersected narrow zones of low-grade gold mineralisation (0.5 g/t Au – 1.05 g/t Au).
As with OKDD001 and OKDD002, drillhole OKDD003 consistently intersected highly prospective lithologies, including pervasively altered siltstone and granite with multiple phases of quartz and minor carbonate veining. Additionally, numerous faults and shear zones were intersected, all of which contain elevated levels of sulphide mineralisation.
Enmore Gold Project
The Enmore Gold Project (EL8479) is located in the New England Fold Belt, approximately 30km south of the regional centre of Armidale in northern New South Wales.
The Enmore project shows similar geological characteristics to the Hillgrove Gold Mine, which is located approximately 22km north- northeast of Enmore and has produced over 730,000oz of gold.
