Peako Limited (ASX: PKO) has commenced its 2023 field campaign at the Eastman Platinum Group Element (PGE) Project in Western Australia.
Ground and preparatory work are currently in progress in preparation for a reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign which will commence shortly at the high-priority Brumby Prospect. The primary objective of this campaign is to extend the strike of high-grade PGE mineralization and explore additional parallel ultramafic units to the north.
“We are pleased to be back in the field and preparing for RC drilling at our priority Brumby Prospect,” Executive Director, Rae Clark, said.
“Our immediate focus is on extending high-grade PGE mineralization at Brumby as part of our systematic exploration approach for the Eastman Intrusion, where the ultimate objective is to progressively define PGE resources along the entire 16.5km strike potential.”
Planned RC Drilling
“The upcoming RC drilling campaign will be focused at the high priority Brumby Prospect and comprise 10 holes for a total of ~1,200m. The objective is to extend the known strike of high- grade PGE mineralization at Brumby through a series of step-out drill holes. In addition to testing strike, the drill programme will assess the width, grade and continuity of the Brumby high grade mineralization.
“Importantly, drilling will also test two additional parallel ultramafic units to the north which present opportunity to define additional high-grade PGE targets in close proximity to Brumby.”
Brumby Prospect Overview
Situated centrally within the eastern zone of the 16.5km long Eastman PGE Intrusion, the Brumby Prospect has a strike potential of at least 1.4km. Continuous PGE mineralization is presently defined along a tested 300m strike.
Diamond Drilling
The Brumby Prospect is also the focus of planned diamond drill testing following the completion of RC drilling and interpretation of results, co-funded by a Western Australian Government EIS grant.
Diamond drilling will enhance Peako’s geological understanding of the Brumby Prospect, particularly in terms of the relationship between PGE mineralization, stratigraphy, and structure. The knowledge obtained from the planned diamond drilling program will assist with targeting PGE mineralization along the entire 16.5km strike of the Eastman Intrusion.
