Drilling Results Unveiling Positive Guinea Gold Picture
Predictive Discovery Limited(ASX:PDI) has reported positive assay results from 21 Reverse Circulation (RC) holes and one diamond (DD) hole completed on the Bankan Project in Guinea.
At Bankan Creek a DD-hole was completed beneath previous shallow drilling results with drilling successfully expanding the gold mineralisation deep into fresh rock – at a location just 3km west of the main NE Bankan prospect. Better results included: 21m at 1.0g/t gold from 41m, plus 23m at 2.0g/t gold from 86m, and 23m at 2.4g/t gold from 116m.
Meanwhile, RC drilling at NE Bankan intersected further zones of gold mineralisation from step-out drilling along strike and at depth. Significant intersections included 6m at 68.0g/t gold from 58m,2m at 8.6g/t gold from 72m, and 6m at 17.3g/t Au from 78m.
“The company is very pleased that deeper drilling at Bankan Creek has now returned strong gold results from fresh rock,” Managing Director, Paul Roberts, said.
“The recognition of hard rock gold mineralisation at depth just 3km away from the NE Bankan discovery brings significant potential to add more gold ounces to the planned 2021 Mineral Resource Estimate.
“With these new RC results, the company’s confidence that it has uncovered a large system of gold mineralised bodies within the Bankan Project continues to grow. Drilling is intersecting broad widths and the growth of the gold mineralised footprint through auger drilling has provided us additional scope for follow-up drilling at depth.
“We are continually updating our geological model of the Bankan mineralised bodies while also improving our understanding of potential controls on the gold mineralisation.
“We also look forward to auger drilling results from south and north of the NE Bankan zone, with the potential to grow the plus-0.25g/t gold auger footprint along strike and thereby provide new targets for further gold discovery.
“RC drilling will also be extended north into the Saman permit, with new drill holes to test the previously reported encouraging auger results at depth.”
RC drilling is ongoing with the drill focus now turning to testing the northern 400m of the 0.25g/t gold Power Auger anomaly. DD drilling is now progressively testing the gold mineralised zone outlined by the AC and RC from west to east, more or less at right angles to the inferred dip direction.
The current intention is to suspend RC and DD drilling in early September in order to receive all of the drill results in the following weeks and plan the next phase of drilling.
