Sky Metals Limited (ASX: SKY) has provided an update on ongoing Air Core (AC) drilling results at the company’s Doradilla Project in Australia. The assays for the 63-hole AC programme have successfully expanded both the high value rare earth element (REE) and tin-polymetallic mineralization.
The programme was focused on testing the project’s Midway Deposit, the outcropping Midway Granite, and the along strike extension of the DMK Line, as Midway has the highest grade REE and tin identified along the DMK Line to date.
“This programme has shown a significant expansion of the high value REE mineralization with all the results contained in the +50m deep clays from surface over the broad 16km strike at Doradilla,” commented SKY CEO, Oliver Davies.
“Crucially, these results confirm the very valuable mix of REE present at Doradilla, with an average of +20% Nd + Pr + Tb + Dy. The REE mineralization has now been extended over the Midway Granite, to the north of the DMK Line and further mineralization has been discovered along the previously untested 4km strike between Doradilla and Midway.”
These assay results have extended the DMK Line strike by 4km and show high concentrations of valuable REE throughout with averages of over 20% MREO (Nd + Pr + Tb + Dy), highlighted in MWAC031 which has an average of 34% MREO.
Results included:
- MWAC031: 24m @3,871ppm (0.39%) TREO from 44m,
- including 8m @10,191ppm (1.02%) TREO from 48m
- MWAC018: 20m @3,463ppm (0.35%) TREO from 69m,
- including 7m @5,682ppm (0.57%) TREO from 73m
- MWAC052: 14m @1,983ppm (0.20%) TREO & 0.45% Sn from 17m,
- including 3m @6,854ppm (0.69%) TREO & 0.26% Sn from 17m
Davies added, “SKY will continue working on pathways to extract the high value REE and tin mineralization from this large potential source of REE and tin.”
Testwork is ongoing with samples from the 3,000m drill programme to be sent for further testing.
