Southern Cross Gold Ltd (ASX:SXG) has drilled further extremely high-grade gold intersections at the 100%-owned Sunday Creek Project in Victoria, Australia from two drill holes announced here (SDDSC042/45).
Drillhole SDDSC045 graded 0.4 m @ 52.4 g/t gold from 174.7 m and 3.8 m @ 28.9 g/t gold from 183.0 m, including 0.3 m @ 362.5 g/t gold. SDDSC042 graded 6.3 m @ 4.1 g/t gold from 137.5 m including 0.6 m @ 16.4 g/t gold.
These exceptionally high-grade results are the first drill test undertaken in a NW-SE orientation across the NNE-trending Apollo shoot, demonstrate continuity of high-grade mineralisation and show the true thickness of the Apollo shoot (up to 50 m, with higher grades over 20 m – 40 m).
Highlights
• Drill hole SDDSC045 intersected a very broad zone of mineralisation from 97.4 m – 186.8 m downhole (89.5m @ 1.9 g/t AuEq (1.8 g/t Au, 0.04% Sb, no lower cut applied)) coupled with extremely high grades:

• Drill hole SDDSC042, drilled 40 m above SDDSC045 intersected a very broad zone of mineralisation from 111.9 m – 146.9 m down hole (36.1 m @ 1.4 g/t AuEq (1.2 g/t Au, 0.08% Sb no lower cut applied)):
o 14.0m@1.3g/tAuEq(1.2g/tAu,0.03%Sb)from111.9m
▪ 0.2 m @ 12.3 g/t AuEq (0.9 g/t Au, 7.21% Sb) from 137.5 m

Highlights
• SXG is drilling three areas along a 700 m strike of known surface mineralisation, with the deepest drilling to date undertaken and has three holes pending assays and two holes in progress. Drilling has not been impacted by the recent rain event in the region.
“We have multiple reasons to be excited with the release of these two drillholes. Firstly, we continue to see extremely high grades of gold including 0.3 m @ 362.5 g/t gold as Sunday Creek delivers yet another >100 g/t x m AuEq, with 18 drillholes now exceeding this threshold at Sunday Creek – an exceptional hit rate,” Managing Director, Michael Hudson, said.
“Secondly, these results test a previously undrilled orientation across the Apollo shoot, which demonstrates both wide thicknesses of mineralisation (up to 50 m) with clustering of extremely high grades where predicted. Additionally, we continue to develop confidence in shoot morphology and development of multiple shoots exhibiting extremely high-grade hits across the project area.
“This result at Apollo follows the 2.1 m @ 121.6 g/t AuEq intersection within drill hole SDSC0046 located 340 m west (of Apollo) at the new Rising Sun shoot announced on October 4, 2022. The Sunday Creek project keeps on delivering exceptionally wide and high- grade results at all scales.”
