Further Gold Intersected In Wee Lode
Tempest Minerals Ltd (ASX:TEM) has confirmed the presence of gold in the Wee Lode through reconnaissance drilling at the Warriedar West Project in Western Australia.
The success as Wee follows up the previously announced wide-spread intrusive discovered gold at the OK Corral area and shallow greenstones.
The highlight of the new Wee Lode results is an intersection of 1m @ 5gpt gold from 7m in the maiden drillhole into this mineralised zone.
The Warriedar West Project is a large-scale exploration project located in the Murchison province of Western Australia targeting Intrusive Related Gold (IRG) and orogenic gold mineralisation.
Drilling at the project was focussed on several target areas of shallow, outcropping zones of highly altered silica rich intrusive and previously mapped large outcropping quartz veining. Previous rock chips samples at the surface returned grades up to 8gpt gold.
The recently completed programme tested targets in the north-west of the project identified during early reconnaissance sampling and mapping. They include large areas of intense alteration and quartz veining.
The maiden targeted drillhole intersected several metres of weathered mineralised quartz vein (1m @ 5gpt gold). This intersection is down dip of the existing ‘Wee Lode’ outcrop which previously yielded rock chip samples up to 8gpt gold.
This mineralised quartz zone is in line with the predicted depth and extends the continuity of the vein down-dip, however, the mineralisation remains open in all directions.
Further drilling results are expected from the laboratory in coming weeks.
