Latest Nine Holes Hit Gold In Chile
Tesoro Resources Limited (ASX:TSO) has received further positive assay results from drilling at the Ternera Gold Deposit, located at the company’s El Zorro Gold Project in Chile, where it is aiming to increase the existing Ternera Mineral Resource of 660,000oz gold.
The company has received assays for nine diamond drill holes completed as part of the Ternera infill drilling programme.
Managing Director, Zeff Reeves, said all holes intercepted gold mineralisation, with wide gold zones intercepted increasing continuity and extent of higher-grade gold zones associated with north-south fault zones
“Ternera continues to deliver strong results with each drillhole adding to our confidence at Ternera,” Mr Reeves said.
“These results demonstrate that the high-grade gold zones associated with north-south faults are predictable and continuous.
“Four of these fault zones have been well drilled and each is over 700m long and mineralised from surface to over 300m depth. Drilling continues at Ternera East, Drone Hill and Toro Blanco, we look forward to receiving results from these holes in the coming weeks.”
DRILLING RESULTS
Tesoro drilled holes ZDDH0190 and ZDDH0193 on section +160m in the northern sector of the Ternera Deposit. Both holes returned shallow mineralised intercepts within sedimentary rocks affected by north-south fault zones demonstrating the continuity of gold mineralisation outside of the main El Zorro Tonalite (EZT) into sediments.
Hole ZDDH0192, ZDDH0195 and ZDDH0197 retuned strong zones of mineralisation associated with the M350 fault within EZT. These results demonstrate the continuity of gold mineralisation along the M350 from surface to over 300m depth. ZDDH0198 returned a narrow, shallow intercept associated with the MF350 outside of the main EZT within sedimentary rocks.
ZDDH0191 reported a wide zone of gold mineralisation with high-grade core associated with the MF500 fault zone which remains open in all directions.
Holes ZDDH0194 and ZDDH0196 returned multiple narrow intercepts associated with fault splays adjacent to the MF100 fault in the western sector of Ternera.
Intercepts include:
ZDDH0191: 52.00m @ 1.61g/t Au from 353.00m including; 30.00m @ 2.57g/t Au from 353.00m; and 7.15m @ 4.85g/t Au from 375.85m.
ZDDH0192: 85.58m @ 0.82g/t Au from 305.42m including; 13.00m @ 2.20g/t Au from 339.00m; and 26.20m @ 1.17g/t Au from 365.80m.
ZDDH0193: 7.00m @ 1.3g/t Au from 7.00m; and 1.00m @ 15.95g/t Au from 156.00m.
ZDDH0195: 57.50m @ 0.82g/t Au from 267.50m including; 11.10m @ 1.40g/t Au from 287.90m; and 12.00m @ 2.21g/t Au from 313.00m.
ZDDH0197: 18.50m @ 4.55g/t Au from 138.50m including; 9.30m @ 8.79g/t Au from 138.50m.
NEXT STEPS
Drilling continues at El Zorro focussing on infill and extensional areas at Tenera, along with drilling at additional targets Ternera East, Drone Hill and Toro Blanco. Tesoro is currently awaiting results from 44 diamond drill holes previously completed as part of this program and will report these results as they become available.
All additional drilling results will be used to update the existing Mineral Resource estimate for the Ternera Deposit, targeted for Q4 2021.
