Tesoro Gold Limited (ASX:TSO) has received positive initial assay results from extensional drilling of the Ternera Gold Deposit in Chile, confirming a new, high-grade extension to mineralization along the Dorado Fault Zone (DFZ).
Highlights
• Step-out drilling targeted potential mineralization along the DFZ, up to 420m south of the existing Ternera Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).
• Initial assay results confirm the location of the mineralized DFZ and associated gold- bearing structures, best results included:
• 7.80m @2.78g/t Au from 16m (ZDDH0317), including; − 5.00m @3.76g/t Au from 18m.
• 1.36m @9.00g/t Au from 54m (ZDDH0317).
• 4.60m @3.35g/t Au from 14m (ZDDH0319A), including; − 2.50m @5.48g/t Au from 14m.
• 11.10m @0.86g/t Au from 104m (ZDDH0320), including; − 2.00m @3.00g/t Au from 113m.
• 1.00m @44.00g/t Au from 215m (ZDDH0320).
• 7.00m @2.04g/t Au from 306m (ZDDH0320), including; − 1.00m @7.43g/t Au from 306m.
• Results highlight the significant high-grade potential for delineation of multiple, shallow gold zones to the south of Ternera to be unlocked with further drilling.
• Drilling now underway at the untested Kitsune target, approximately 2.5km north of Ternera.
• Assays returned from hole ZDDH0313 approximately 300m to the north of the Ternera MRE included 1.40m @3.39g/t Au from 146m.
• Since recommencement of drilling in January 2023, 17 holes have been completed for 3,635m, with assays outstanding for 7 holes.
• Field mapping and sampling is ongoing to define additional Ternera look-alike targets.
“These holes demonstrate the potential for additional, shallow, high-grade extensions to the Ternera deposit, which will be rapidly delineated with further drilling,” Tesoro Managing Director, Zeff Reeves, said.
“The results are particularly important as they demonstrate gold mineralization is continuous within the Dorado Fault Zone and associated structures across all lithologies. This provides significant potential for Mineral Resource expansion at Ternera, and the wider El Zorro Gold Project.
“The DFZ has been mapped over 10km of strike and is consistently anomalous in gold with numerous high-priority targets now clearly defined.
“Drilling is now underway at Kitsune, where we are excited to begin a maiden programme testing a large 3.2km by 1.5km anomalous gold zone. Located 2.5km north of Ternera, Kitsune has the potential to be a very large northern extension of our existing Mineral Resource.”
