Excellent Drilling Results Continue In Chile
Tesoro Resources Limited (ASX:TSO) continues to receive excellent assay results from the Ternera Gold Deposit, located at the company’s El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.
Assays were received for nine diamond drill holes completed at the Ternera Gold Deposit.
Tesoro Managing Director, Zeff Reeves said all holes intercepted significant zones of gold mineralisation with several holes reporting wide gold zones outside of the existing resource model.
“This is an exceptional set of drill results from Ternera and provides clear evidence that a significant increase to the Ternera resource could be achieved in short order with further drilling,” Mr Reeves said.
“We are particularly pleased with multiple near surface gold zones being delineated, as well as what is now a significant new zone of mineralisation to the west of the deposit, which is outside of the existing resource model.
“This zone has added a new north-south mineralised fault zone to the deposit and is now delineated over 700m of strike, from surface to over 300m deep.
“We firmly believe that the resource at Ternera can rapidly increase over the coming months with the deposit still open in all directions, the more we drill the bigger Ternera is becoming. El Zorro is showing all the hallmarks of a large Intrusive Related Gold System.”
Significant intercepts include:
ZDDH0170 – 205.00m @ 0.96g/t Au from 9.00m including; 59.00m @ 2.49g/t Au from 147.00m; and 21.00m @ 5.26g/t Au from 147.00m.
ZDDH0168 – 40.00m @ 2.11g/t Au from 2.00m including; 17.50m @ 4.51g/t Au from 2.00m.
ZDDH0161 – 127.00m @ 0.67g/t Au from 74.00m including; 31.00m @ 1.64g/t Au from 112.00m; 11.00m @ 2.97g/t Au from 132.00m; and 5.00m @ 2.44g/t Au from 195.00m.
ZDDH016 – 12.50m @ 2.71g/t Au from 144.50m including; 3.50m @ 6.45g/t Au from 144.50m; and 27.53m @ 0.66g/t Au from 188.42m including; 4.00m @ 1.29g/t Au from 194.00m and 21.65m @ 0.90g/t Au from 98.35 m including; 16.22m @ 1.12g/t Au from 100.52m.
ZDDH0164 – 98.00m @ 0.75g/t Au from 179.00m including; 53.00m @ 1.05g/t Au from 179.00m; and 20.00m @ 2.15 g/t Au from 179.00m.
ZDDH0165 – 25.00m @ 0.96 g/t Au from 5.00m including; 5.00m @ 2.24g/t Au from 6.00m; and 3.30m @ 2.96g/t Au from 25.50m.
Extensional Drilling
Holes ZDDH0167 and ZDDH0168 were drilled into the south-western extension of the Ternera Deposit and confirm continuity of a wide zone of near surface mineralisation associated with a north-south fault intersecting the El Zorro Tonalite (EZT).
This western area is not part of the currently reported Ternera Mineral Resource and has now been delineated over 700m of strike, from surface to over 300m of depth. Significant potential exists for this zone to add additional resources to the Ternea Deposit.
Infill Drilling
The seven holes ZDDH0161-ZDDH0165, ZDDH0169 and ZDDH0170 were infill holes drilled within the Ternera Gold Deposit. All holes returned significant, wide zones of gold mineralisation further expanding higher grade gold zones delineated by previous drilling.
Drilling has also confirmed the continuity of high-grade gold zones within north-south faults zones and demonstrates the ability to grow the deposit with further drilling.
