Continues To Expand Ternera Deposit
Tesoro Resources Limited (ASX:TSO) has received exceptional assay results from extensional and infill resource definition drilling at the Ternera Gold Deposit located at the company’s El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.
Assays have been received for ten drillholes at Ternera, with all holes returning significant gold results.
The company revealed that multiple high-grade results have confirmed potential of high-grade gold zones within the Ternera Deposit. Best results include:
- ZDDH0128 – 0.91m @ 7.59g/t Au from 78.29m; and 7.00m @ 3.22g/t Au from 103.00m.
- ZDDH0131 – 25.00m @ 2.11g/t Au from 119.00m including: 0.59m @ 63.10g/t Au from 120.00m; and 1.00m @ 38.30g/t Au from 176.00m.
- ZDDH0135- 12.00m @ 3.34g/t Au from 334.00m including:1.50m @ 25.22g/t Au from 334.00m.
- ZDDH0133 – 27.00m @ 1.18g/t Au from 267.00m including: 8.00m @ 3.17g/t Au from 267.00m.
- ZDDH0136 – 107.00m @ 0.49 /t Au from 239.00m including: 37.00m @ 1.01g/t Au from 287.00m.
Managing Director, Zeff Reeves, said multiple high grade ‘bonanza’ intercepts were returned further validating the Ternera mineralising model and the control of north-south fault zones (the MF faults) on high grade gold mineralisation at Ternera.
“Ternera continues to produce consistent results with multiple high-grade zones now having been delineated,” Mr Reeves said.
“The north trending fault zones are consistently returning high gold grades, which are beginning to look very attractive from a mining perspective.
“Our team in Chile is working very hard and moving Ternera towards a Maiden Resource Estimate.
“We are in the enviable position of having our hands on an expanding gold system in a tier one mining jurisdiction and we are excited by the potential we are seeing at Ternera.”
Holes ZDDH00128, ZDDH0129, ZDDH0130, ZDDH0131, ZDDH0133 and ZDDH0136 were all drilled in the southern sector of the Ternera Deposit.
All holes returned positive results, further extending and confirming gold mineralisation to the south, associated with the MF200, MF350 and MF500 faults. The southern margin of the Ternera Deposit remains open, with continuous, high-grade zones being developed within the MF faults which occur within a broader envelope of lower grade mineralisation.
Holes ZDDH0105 and ZDDH0108 were drilled along the eastern margin of the Ternera Deposit and returned modest intercepts. Both holes were drilled toward the north-east and have been interpreted to have intercepted the hanging wall of the main tonalite host rock. Mineralisation reported is associated with the MF500 fault within sedimentary rocks, not the main host tonalite body.
Holes ZDDH0132 and ZDDH0135 were drilled on the far north-east margin of the Ternera Deposit, to test for additional extensions to the north-east. Hole ZDDH0135 (refer Figure 3) returned high grade gold results associated with the MF500 fault. ZDDH0132 failed to intercept the main host tonalite body due to the influence of an east-west trending fault displacing the interpreted position of the tonalite. Additional drilling is being planned to test the interpreted position of the displaced tonalite block.
Drilling continues 24/7 focusing on infill and extensional drilling at Ternera. An initial two holes have been drilled at Ternera East with assays to be received in the coming weeks.
