Tesoro Resources Limited (ASX:TSO) is pleased to announce assay results received from drilling at the Ternera Gold Deposit, located at the Company’s El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.
Tesoro received assays for six diamond drill holes completed as part of the Ternera infill and extensional drilling program. All holes intercepted gold mineralisation, with wide gold zones intercepted improving continuity and broadening gold zones within the existing resource model.
“This is another solid set of assay results from Ternera, which has extended and improved continuity within mineralised zones in the deposit,” Managing Director, Zeff Reeves, said.
“At Ternera, it is exciting to see that the more drilling we do, the larger the deposit is becoming. Our recent capital raising has the company well placed to deliver an expanded resource estimate and we are in the enviable position of drilling a mineralised body which continues to deliver outstanding drill results and remains open in all directions. We haven’t yet found the edges of this growing gold system.”
Drilling Results
Holes ZDDH0198, ZDDH0208 and ZDDH0213 were all drilled in the southeast sector of the Ternera Gold Deposit. All holes returned positive results and improved continuity of gold mineralisation and also extended mineralised zones. Hole ZDDH0198 returned a wide intercept, including multiple higher-grade zones with the hole ending in mineralisation.
Holes ZDDH0189, ZDDH0210 and ZDDH0211 were all drilled in the northwest sector of the Ternera Gold Deposit. All holes returned shallow, near surface gold intercepts, improving continuity of shallow mineralisation along the western margin of Ternera.
Next Steps
Drilling continues at El Zorro focussing on infill and extensional areas at Ternera, along with drilling at additional targets Ternera East, Drone Hill and Toro Blanco.
The company continually assesses the growth of the Ternera Gold Deposit as drilling is completed and assays are received and has identified several high priority extensions to the southeast and north of Ternera. 3D modelling has identified wide zones of gold mineralisation open both along strike and down dip.
The company is focussed on increasing gold resources at El Zorro with continued drilling.
Tesoro is currently awaiting results from 42 diamond drill holes previously completed as part of this program and will report these results as they become available
