West Cobar Metals Limited (ASX:WC1) has recommenced drilling activities at the Salazar Clay Rare Earth Element (REE) Project, 125km NE of the town of Esperance in Western Australia.
Prior to the Christmas break, West Cobar completed 2,781m of its 9,000m phase 1 air core program and has recommenced drilling on Monday 9th January 2023 and will continue through to completion in Q1, 2023.
The programme is planned to extend the existing Inferred Resource of 43.5Mt at 1192ppm total rare earths oxide (TREO) at Newmont, explore the southern part of E63/1496 which contains the Newmont deposit, and to explore the O’Connor licence area (E63/1469).
Drill samples from the programme have been sent to Bureau Veritas and are being prepared for analysis. Assay results are expected during Q1 2023.
The final assay results will then be integrated with the historical data to produce an updated Inferred Resource for the Newmont deposit during Q2 2023.
