White Cliff Minerals Limited (ASX: WCN) has announced that drilling is underway at the company’s 100% owned Rae Copper Project in Nunavut, Canada, following the successful mobilization of drilling crews from Northspan Drilling, local geotechnical support from Aurora Geosciences, and White Cliff personnel to site.
Managing director, Troy Whittaker, commented, “We are pleased to now be drilling at Rae. Getting set up and started earlier than normal for northern hemisphere field work means we are positioned well when the summer field season starts in a few months. Visual confirmation of copper in the first three holes supports the view that the region may be fertile for large scale copper mineralization.”
The programme will consist of approximately 25 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes of varying depths for a total of 4000m, and approximately ¼ of the phase 1 planned 4,000m is now drilled, with six holes completed to date.
Initial drillholes have returned several intervals of visually identified1 copper sulphide mineralization at Danvers. Highlights from the first 3 holes include:
• DAN25001: 58m of visible sulphides from surface
• DAN25002: 79m of visible sulphides from surface
• DAN25003: 96m of visible sulphide from 14m
The company anticipates assay results from the first tranche of drilling within the next four to six weeks.
