Zacapa Resources Ltd. (TSXV: ZACA | OTCQB: ZACAF | DE: BH0) has appointed Ian Slater, Zacapa’s founder and chairman, as chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Ian is a chartered accountant and an entrepreneur, who has founded multiple companies and been involved in the mining industry for over 25 years. Previously, he was managing partner of both Ernst & Young’s Canadian and Arthur Andersen’s Central Asian Mining Practices.
Zacapa is a mineral exploration company that has copper and gold projects concentrated in the southwest of the United States, including Arizona, Nevada, and Idaho. Their portfolio includes over 200km2 of porphyry copper projects at Red Top and Pearl and epithermal gold projects at Miller Mountain and South Bullfrog.
“After nearly two years of systematic geophysics, geochemistry, and detailed mapping, Zacapa’s technical team has identified targets at South Bullfrog that are analogous to some of the largest discoveries in the Beatty district,” commented chairman, founder, and new CEO Ian Slater. “These targets have now been fully drill permitted and a drill contractor has been selected. It is an exciting time to be a Zacapa shareholder. I look forward to bringing my experience and working with our team to deliver shareholder value as we put Zacapa on track for future growth.”
