He reflects on the performance of his company’s Precious Metals Fund in 2020 and discusses the key attributes he looks for when investing in precious metal mining companies. Markus Bachmann co-founded Craton Capital in 2003, and today is the manager of the Craton Capital Precious Metal Fund, which enjoys recognition as one of the world’s top performers in its sector, and advises on Craton Capital’s Global Resources Fund. He began his career at Credit Suisse before joining the SBC BrinsonAsset Management Emerging Markets team in 1997. In 2001, while senior portfolio manager and global resources specialist at Coronation Fund Managers, he received the S&P Award for the best-performing large-cap equity trust unit in South Africa. Markus holds an MA in Business and Economics (cum laude) from the University of Berne, Switzerland.
