The Assay TV meets with Craig Shesky, CFO of The Metals Company (Nasdaq: TMC) which is developing the world’s largest estimated resource of metals required for electric vehicles and low-carbon energy through the deep-sea mining of polymetallic nodules.
Craig explains that through subsidiaries, the company holds exploration and commercial rights to three polymetallic nodule contract areas in the Clarion Clipperton Zone of the Pacific Ocean regulated by the International Seabed Authority and sponsored by the governments of Nauru, Kiribati, and the Kingdom of Tonga.
TMC will file an application for an exploitation contract over the NORI-D area following the July 2024 meeting of the ISA.
