The Assay meets with Jon Dugdale, technical director of Metals Australia Ltd (ASX: MLS). The company operates in the mineral resource sector, with a focus on graphite and gold exploration in Canada, and lithium and zinc exploration in Western Australia.
The company’s flagship, the Lac Rainy Nord graphite project, is located in one of the most dominant graphite geological provinces in Quebec.
Jon highlights recent findings at Lac Rainy Nord that show high-grade spherical graphite that exceeds the premium battery grade, and recent battery testing has identified good energy storage capacity, discharge rates, and durability. A pre-feasibility study and further drilling will begin over the next 12 months.
Additionally, he mentions the company’s Manindi lithium project in Western Australia, where lithium bearing pegmatites have been identified and drilling has commenced to determine metallurgy.
