The Assay TV spoke to Luis Marchese, CEO & Director at Sierra Metals (TSX:SMT).
Sierra Metals is a diversified Canadian mining company focused on the production and development of precious and base metals from its polymetallic Yauricocha Mine in Peru, and its Bolivar Copper Mine and Cusi Silver Mine in Mexico. The Company is focused on increasing production volume and is currently ramping up production from its recently completed expansions at all three mines. Further production expansion studies are currently underway as well based on its large and growing mineral resource base. Sierra Metals recently has a new high-grade silver zone discovery at its Cusi mine, which highlights include 4.9 meters of 1,140 g/t silver. This new zone is adjacent to existing operations and can quickly be brought into the mine plan with low Capex. The Company also has many more exciting brownfield exploration opportunities at all three mines and very prospective mineral concessions in Peru and Mexico, which provide longer-term exploration upside and mineral resource growth potential. The Company continues to improve the per-share value for its shareholders and has funded all growth through cash flow and debt facilities. Sierra Metals has not had an equity financing issuance since 2011. Sierra Metals offers investors copper and precious metals exposure with further production and mineral resource growth upside. The Company operates in well known and established mining jurisdictions with supportive governments.
