The Assay TV catches up with Scott Williamson, managing director of Blackstone Minerals (ASX: BSX), a company focused on building an integrated battery metals processing business in Vietnam that produces precursor products for Asia’s growing lithium-ion battery industry.
Scott tells us about the company’s option to acquire 100% of the Wabowden nickel sulphide project, an asset located in the world-class Thompson nickel belt in Manitoba, Canada. He talks about how Wabowden can remove Blackstone’s need to secure third-party feed to fill its Ta Khoa refinery in southern Vietnam for years to come.
The company’s flagship Ta Khoa project in northern Vietnam, Ta Khoa refinery, and now the Waboden project as the final piece of the puzzle are setting the company up as it aims to secure a joint venture with potential cathode or car manufacturing downstream partners.
