Southern Gold (ASX:SAU) is currently the only foreign-listed mining company operating in South Korea, and primarily targets epithermal gold and silver mineralization. In late February 2021, Simon Mitchell, Southern Gold’s managing director, spoke to Assay TV about the company’s main activities: the ongoing drilling programme at Aphae, making new discoveries at Geum Mar, and targeting ultra-high-grade silver at the Deokon project. With lots of exploration underway, Southern Gold expects to ramp up its South Korean drilling activities in 2021 and beyond.
Southern Gold Ltd is a successful gold explorer listed on the ASX. Southern Gold owns 100% of a substantial portfolio of high-grade gold-silver projects in South Korea that are largely greenfield epithermal targets in the south-west of the country. Backed by a first-class technical team, including renowned geologist Douglas Kirwin, Southern Gold’s aim is to find tier one epithermal gold-silver deposits in a jurisdiction that has seen very little modern exploration.
