The Assay TV catches up with Tim Harrison, Managing Director of Ionic Rare Earths (ASX: IXR), to update the outcomes from the Scoping Study completed on its 51%-owned Makuutu Rare Earths Project, located 120km east of Kampala, Uganda.
Tim says that Makuutu is an ionic adsorption clay (IAC) deposit that contains rare earth elements (REE) ionically bonded to the clay rather than existing as primary minerals in the ore, which is rare outside of southern China. It can produce a dominant 73% balanced CREO and HREO basket over an initial 11-year period.
