Castile Resources Limited (ASX:CST) has continued to hit wide copper mineralisation intersections Jupiter Deeps zone of the Rover 1 IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) ore body in Australia’s Northern Territory,.
Assay results from hole 21CRD005-3 have continued the wide copper mineralisation intersections from previous holes in the Jupiter Deeps. This completes the resource definition programme with all results now being interpreted in the new resource estimate underway.
The company’s drilling at Explorer 108 marks the beginning of our regional exploration program at our lead zinc copper deposit located 40 km from Rover 1. Results remain pending and will be communicated to the market when received.
Highlights from Hole 21CRD005-3 include the following intercepts:
- 23.2m @ 1.1% Cu with 0.5g/t Au, 0.1% Bi and 1.9g/t Ag from 879m downhole (True Width 16m) , inc 4.9m @ 1.7% Cu with 0.1g/t Au and 3.5g/t Ag from 884m downhole, inc 1.2m @ 1.7% Cu with 7.8g/t Au, 0.9% Bi, 0.1% Co and 4.9g/t Ag from 901m downhole
- 13m @ 1.5% Cu with 0.1% Co and 1.5g/t Ag from 832m downhole (True Width 9m), inc 4.3m @ 2.4% Cu with 0.1% Co and 2g/t Ag from 835.5m downhole
- 8.9m @ 1.4% Cu with 0.1g/t Au and 1.7g/t Ag from 855.55m downhole (True Width 6m)
“This is a great way to end the Rover 1 resource definition program with more broad copper intersections that open the ore body up to further expansion of the mineralisation in the Jupiter Deeps,” Managing Director, Mark Hepburn, said.
“The gold and copper resource definition drilling at Rover 1 is now complete and we have compiled the results which are being analysed for the new resource estimate. We are extremely pleased with the interpreted expansions to both the Jupiter and Jupiter Deeps lodes and look forward to how that will drive the new resource estimate.
“Our cobalt and bismuth by-products will significantly enhance the economics of the project, but another big boost will come from the high grade 96.6% magnetite product. To be clear – the focus remains on extracting and processing the gold and copper – but the fact that a component of our waste stream can be converted to a high value industrial mineral product with an associated revenue stream is a massive bonus.
“We also look forward to results from the exploration drill hole extension at Explorer 108 which was the final drill hole for the season. The drilling at Explorer 108 which is located 40 kms to the west of Rover 1 marks the beginning of the regional exploration programme in the wider Rover Mineral Field.
“ We have an existing zinc, lead and copper resource at Explorer 108 which is an obvious target for Castile’s ‘hub and spoke’ strategy that includes a centralised processing area at Rover 1 within easy trucking distance of all of the other prospects at our tenements.
“We anticipate the results from Explorer 108 will give shareholders a great reminder of the existing potential in Castile’s nearby prospects that will easily flow into the proposed Rover 1 infrastructure.”
