Across the commodities spectrum, analysts are predicting a significant shortage in supply over the coming years. In line with the growing trend to nationalize commodity supply chains, Australia is doubling down on domestic exploration to grow national reserves and ensure adequate supply to meet the growing demand of metals and minerals.
This panel starts by setting the scene as panellists explain the trends in exploration they’re currently seeing. They look at inflation, the impact from COVID-19 restrictions and the resulting labour shortages and the effects this has had on the exploration environment.
The panel then looks at where the money is going and the key criteria being used to assess investments. There are a few points that look at specific commodities, such as the batteries, gold, rare earths, etc to see what’s currently happening in those markets.
The discussion then moves to a broader focus on exploration financing outside of Australia. We also look at new trends in technology for the industry, the role of China’s investors, and supply/demand trends.
