The opening panel at 121 Mining & Energy Investment Singapore brought together a few top regional investors in the metals and mining space to discuss current investment themes for the industry. The panel takes a global macro view at impacts on the industry today and how its impacting investment.
The panel looks at the de-globalization of supply chains and the impact of legislation such as the Inflation Reduction Act. They also look at the tie-ups between miners and industrial groups to get them investing in projects. This brings them to a look at the various battery metals and what’s happening in the space.
The panel then moves on to discuss how the growing discourse on ESG is impacting the industry today and what is expected moving forward. They also discuss investment risks in terms of geography, etc. and how they assess these. Additionally, they talk about how they assess potential investments.
